HC Deb 20 July 1964 vol 699 c37W
Mr. Rankin

asked the Minister of Aviation what was the total cost in 1961–62 and 1962–63 of training pilots ab initio to fly British civil commercial aircraft; and how much of this actual trainee flying is done outside Great Britain.

Mr. Marten

Theab initio training of commercial pilots is carried out at the College of Air Training at Hamble, and at a number of private flying schools. Information about the cost at private schools is not available. None of this training takes place abroad.
