§ Captain Kerbyasked the Minister of Aviation what price was paid by the buyer for the three Princess flying boats, built at a cost of over £9 million to the taxpayer; to whom they have been sold; and whether they were sold for operational use or for scrap.
§ Mr. MartenIn view of negotiations in which he is engaged regarding the possible future use of the boats, the purchaser has asked that for the present his name and plans should remain confidential. It is not normal practice to disclose contract prices. I can, however, say that the aircraft were sold to the highest bidder and that he is hoping to arrange for them to be used for an aeronautical purpose.
