§ 99. Mr. Weitzman
asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether in view of the criticism contained in the judgments of the court in Regina v. Commissioner of Metropolitan 27W Police ex parte Hammond, he will take steps to revise the procedure by magistrates on applications to endorse warrants as in this case.
§ Mr. Brooke
The Commissioner of Police has informed me that he is considering whether to apply to the House of Lords for leave to appeal against the judgment of the Divisional Court in this case. In these circumstances it would not be advisable for me to make any comment.
