§ 51. Mr. Pentlandasked the Lord President of the Council and Minister for Science what action is taken by his Department to encourage British scientists and technicians to take up positions with the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority; and if he is satisfied that sufficient is being done by his Department to further this objective.
§ Mr. HoggThe Atomic Energy Authority recruits its own staff and, in general, obtains sufficient recruits to meet its needs. The steps it takes include advertisement in the Press and in technical journals and, more particularly, maintaining contact with the universities and technical colleges.
§ 52. Mr. Pentlandasked the Lord President of the Council and Minister for Science if he will state the number of British scientists and technicians, previously engaged by the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority, who have taken up positions in the United States 175W of America during the years 1960, 1961, 1962, and 1963.
