§ Sir W. Bromley-Davenportasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether it is intended to ratify the 149W International Convention for the introduction of copyrights concerned with the breeding of plants and seeds as soon as the Plant Varieties and Seeds Bill has been placed on the Statute Book; and what steps will be taken to encourage other countries to ratify so that the Convention can come into operation without further delay.
§ Mr. Scott-HopkinsHer Majesty's Government propose to ratify the International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants when schemes have been made under the Plant Varieties and Seeds Bill for the minimum number of species required by the Convention. Her Majesty's Government will encourage other signatories to ratify the Convention with a view to bringing it into force as soon as possible.
