§ Mr. Wainwrightasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give the percentage of the national product that was spent on housing for the years 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, respectively, and the estimated amount for 1964.
§ Mr. GreenThe hon. Member will appreciate that total expenditure on housing is composed of two main elements; (a) consumer expenditure, (b) gross fixed capital formation. The total for each year is as follows:
