§ Q19. Mr. Hoyasked the Prime Minister if he will issue instructions to Government Departments which have been the subject of criticism in the reports to Parliament of the Comptroller and Auditor General not to order independent inquiries in a manner which prejudices speedy and full investigation by the Public Accounts Committee.
§ The Prime MinisterI do not think that any such instructions are needed. If the hon. Member has in mind the inquiry announced on 24th January, this will in no way prejudice investigation by the Public Accounts Committee.
