§ Mr. MarplesI am well aware of the danger. That is why I have on a number of occasions brought to the attention of local highway authorities, statutory undertakers and contractors 159W the importance of removing signs as soon as they have served their purpose. I have also recommended to them that compliance with the Traffic Safety Codes for Road Works and other Emergencies should be made a condition of contract. I shall draw their attention again to these matters when the new traffic signs Regulations are made, and the Manual and combined Traffic Safety Code are published.
