§ 50. Mr. Harold Walkerasked the Minister of Transport if he will now review the policy of Her Majesty's Government in order to give British Railways workshops equal opportunity with private manufacturers to tender for supply of equipment to outside purchasers.
§ Mr. Tom FraserAs I announced last week, I have approved the British Railways Board's proposals to tender for the manufacture for outside purchasers of equipment which is to be used on the nationalised railways in this country. Manufacturing for other purposes than the business of the nationalised transport undertakings would require new legislation and I am looking into this question.
