§ Mr. Adam Hunterasked the Minister of Power, in view of the fact that in many cases the Consumers' Consultative Councils have not provided the consumers with information as was intended when the industries were nationalised, if he will issue a general direction in the public interest to ensure that information giving details of the Gas and Electricity Consumer Consultative Councils be prominently displayed in gas and electricity showrooms.
§ Mr. John MorrisI understand that this practice is already widely observed by area boards; the Consultative Councils also take other suitable opportunities of informing the public of their work. I152W am taking steps to stress the continuing need for this publicity and will ask the chairmen of the Electricity and Gas Councils to bring my hon. Friend's suggestion to the notice of all the boards.
