McAddenasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government when was the last occasion on which he drew the attention of local authorities to the powers they have possessed for some time to acquire, by compulsory purchase, properties needed for housing purposes; and if he will again remind them of this.
§ Mr. CrossmanLocal authorities were reminded of their powers to acquire existing houses in a circular issued on 31st August last. I do not consider that anything more is needed at present.
