§ 58. Mr. Pounderasked the Postmaster-General if he is aware of the interference of coastal pirate radio stations on normal ship/shore communications, and the possible consequences thereof to persons at sea; and if he will take steps, in advance of the Council of Europe Agreement, to remove this hazard.
§ Mr. BennI am aware of the interference caused by these stations and its possible consequences, but I have no powers at present to take any steps to prevent it. The problem is an international one which can best be solved by concerted action with other European countries and this means waiting for the Council of Europe Agreement.
