Williamsasked the Postmaster-General (1) if he will amend his regulations so as to require the Independent Television Authority to reduce the amount of advertising in commercial television programmes, or confine it to intervals between programmes at specific times during the day;
(2) if he will take steps to require the Independent Television Authority to reduce the tendency towards excessive and meaningless claims in television commercials.

As I said on 17th November in reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Swindon (Mr. Francis Noel-Baker), I am considering the parts of the statement which relate to advertising on television.
