§ Mr. Roseasked the Minister of Health whether he will review the situation whereby qualified nurses who voluntarily undertake midwifery training suffer a cut in their salary during such training.
§ Sir B. StrossRemuneration is a matter in the first instance for the Nurses and Midwives Whitley Council. Under an agreement of the Council hospital authorities may second qualified nurses who are willing to train and subsequently to work as midwives, and in these circumstances their remuneration is not reduced.
