HC Deb 21 April 1964 vol 693 cc152-3W
38. Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations and the Colonies what assistance Her Majesty's Government have given to the British Red Cross in their relief of distress among the Turkish Cypriots; and what consultations he has had with other Governments and the International Red Cross regarding the provision of additional aid.

Mr. Sandys

The British Red Cross have so far financed their work in Cyprus, for both communities, from their own resources.

We are in touch with the Secretary-General of the United Nations about relief, including the rôle of the Red Cross.
