§ 55. Mr. Chapmanasked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations and the Colonies whether he will make a statement on the constitutional crisis in St. Lucia and the refusal of the Government to summon the Legislative Council despite the request of a majority of members.
§ Mr. FisherTwo members of the St. Lucia Government resigned from it on 2nd April. This left a confused position and on the advice of the Chief Minister the Administrator dissolved the Legislative Council on 6th April. Under the Constitution there was no need to summon a meeting of the Legislative Council before dissolution.
