§ Mr. WoodhouseThe latest figures available are for the year 1962, when 4,041,944 experiments were performed under safeguards prescribed by the Cruelty to Animals Act, 1876. There are six inspectors and two more are to be appointed. It has not been necessary to bring any prosecution under the Act during the last twelve months.
