Mr. Parkerasked the Minister of Power what statistics are available in his health and safety department relating to the number of fires in mines controlled by the National Coal Board arising from conveyor systems for five years prior to 1953, and the number of fires arising from the same cause since that date.
§ Mr. PeytonSeventy-three fires in conveyor systems were reported in the five years 1948 to 1952, inclusive, compared with 58 in the years 1953 to 1957 and 47 in the years 1958 to 1962.
