§ Mr. HayThirty-one former grammar school boys have been commissioned in the Royal Marines during the last five years. It is not possible without lengthy research to give a figure for the Corps as a whole or to state the number of officers of field or higher rank who were educated at grammar schools. The nature of an officer's school is of course not a factor in his promotion.
