§ Sir F. Macleanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is aware that, while in Scotland fees are charged by his Department for the export inspection of dahlias, in England no such fees are charged, and this places Scottish dahlia exporters at a disadvantage; and whether he will take steps to remedy this.
§ Mr. NobleFees for export certificates for dahlias are charged on a different basis in England and Wales and are generally less than charges for export inspections in Scotland. The question of export certificate arrangements 47W generally is under examination and it would be inappropriate to deal with the specific item of dahlias in isolation. I shall do all I can to expedite matters.
