§ Mr. Lubbockasked the Secretary of State for Air what measures are being taken to ensure that places are provided in schools for the children of Royal Air Force personnel.
§ Mr. H. FraserIn the United Kingdom, the provision of school places is the responsibility of the local education authorities with whom my Director of Educational Services and his staff keep in close touch. In the main areas overseas, the Service which is the major 197W user provides, equips and staffs schools for the children of all three Services. Elsewhere overseas, children either attend local education authority schools or, where these are not suitable, approved private schools. In the latter case fees are refunded to parents.
