§ 39. Mr. P. Noel-Bakerasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether Her Majesty's Government will make a further contribution to the British Committee of the Freedom from Hunger Campaign.
§ Mr. Scott-HopkinsNo. The object of the Freedom from Hunger Campaign is to enable private citizens to take a more direct part in raising the living standards of the less developed countries and massive contributions by the Government would be out of place. We have given enough to get the campaign started, and it is now capable of supporting itself. The Government's direct efforts are in other fields.
