asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will now make a statement on Her Majesty's Government's long-term plans to develop industry and employment in Scotland.

The measures recently announced include a number of long-term value to the Scottish economy. As regards further plans I cannot yet add to the Reply given by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister to the hon. Member for Battersea, North (Mr. Jay) on 5th March.
