HC Deb 21 March 1963 vol 674 c101W
Mr. Wainwright

asked the Postmaster-General if he is aware of the dissatisfaction amongst telephone users in the South Yorkshire area due to the long delays in trunk calls, especially for the London district; what his plans are for removing this restriction within the near future; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Bevins

I am sorry for these delays which are the result of the very rapid rise in trunk traffic Extra circuits are being provided and should be in service within the next few weeks.
