§ Mr. R. A. ButlerI met the Litunga in Lusaka on 25th January and was given a memorandum in which the Barotse Native Government expressed their wish that Barotseland should become a separate protectorate. I undertook to study the question of Barotseland's future and in due course have further discussions with the Litunga. I am therefore not yet in a position to make a statement.
