Mooreasked the Minister of Transport if he will give a general direction to the British Transport Commission to prepare a schedule of all land which is or will become surplus to their requirements as the result of the closure of branch lines, or alongside existing tracks, with a view to its orderly disposal and utilisation.
§ Mr. MarplesThis is a matter which is within the management responsibility of the new Boards which have succeeded the British Transport Commission, and I do not think it is a suitable subject for a general direction.
