§ Vice-Admiral Hughes HallettIn 1962, 188,000 gross tons of merchant shipping were completed in the United Kingdom for registration abroad. I have no official 41W information on merchant shipping built abroad but I understand that nearly 800,000 gross tons of merchant shipping were completed for registration in the United Kingdom.
Both these figures relate, of course, to orders placed some time ago.
