Mott Radclyffeasked the Minister of Transport why he disagrees with the recommendations of the Berkshire County Council and the Windsor Rural District Council as to the type of pedestrian crossing required in Straight Road, Old Windsor; and when he expects to make a decision, in view of the heavy traffic on this road.
§ Mr. MarplesI have explained my reasons in a letter sent to my hon. Friend yesterday. I now understand that there is a possibility that a small scheme to widen part of Straight Road and to install central refuges, and so facilitate crossing of the road, will be carried out in the current financial year.
