Whether arrangements can now be made for an Official History to be undertaken, in the interests of historical records and research, as to the military operations of 1918–1920 in detached theatres of war, such as North Russia, South Russia, Siberia and other areas not otherwise included in the Official History.
§ THE EARL OF DUNDEEThe Official History of the 1914–1918 War was completed in 1949. The official documents relating to the period 1918–1920 will become available within a fairly short period of years for research by historians in the normal way. In these circumstances I doubt whether Her Majesty's Government would be justified in undertaking the new Official History which the noble Earl suggests.
