§ Mr. MarplesI am informed by the Board that it is examining all aspects of the future use of the inland waterways for which it is responsible. It is doing this not only from the point of view of commercial transport but also in the light of all the other varied purposes which the inland waterways could or might be made to serve. I understand that it hopes to be able to give me a preliminary report of its general views by about the end of the year. Mean while the Board has told me that it is not its present intention to promote any private legislation on individual waterways in the next Session.
