§ Sir J. Maitlandasked the Postmaster-General if he is aware of the importance of telephone communications in houses and farms which are some distance from villages; and when it is proposed to lay additional telephone cables in the Willoughby Exchange area in order that full coverage can be given to the surrounding district.
§ Mr. BevinsI do my best with the resources available to meet the needs of those living in isolated places, but I am sorry I cannot provide the additional cables required to give full coverage in the Willoughby Exchange Area this year. I hope, however, to be able to help in the particular case that my hon. Friend may have in mind and I will write to him at an early date.
