Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that a number of persons have confessed to having worked for payment for the late Peter Rachman, receiving moneys from which no tax deductions were made; and whether he will arrange for the Inland Revenue to take such action as may be necessary to claim tax on these payments.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterThe Revenue always investigate any case in which there is reason to suppose that tax may have been lost. I have no doubt that they will do what is possible in the cases to which the hon. Member refers, without any special instructions.
