§ 79. Mr. Grimondasked the Minister of Labour how many men have emigrated from Scotland owing to lack of employment during the last 12 months, or any similar convenient period.
§ Mr. HareIn the twelve months ending in mid-1962 about 32,000 male employees moved from Scotland to other parts of Great Britain and 21,000 moved to Scotland from elsewhere. I am not able to estimate the extent to which a lack of employment contributed to this movement.
