HC Deb 24 July 1963 vol 681 cc179-80W
82. Mr. Gourlay

asked the Minister of Labour how much was paid in unemployment benefit by his Kirkcaldy office for the period of 13 weeks to the latest available date; and what was the corresponding figure for the same period in 1962.

Mr. Hare

£46,605 for the 13 weeks ended 13th July, 1963, and £27,357 for the comparable period in 1962. In part this higher figure is due to higher benefit rates being paid from 7th March last.

Mr. Gourlay

asked the Minister of Labour how many persons registered at the Kirkcaldy office have secured employment in Glenrothes since 1st April, 1963, to the latest convenient date.

Mr. Hare

Between 1st April and 19th July, 1963, 21 men and 4 women registered at Kirkcaldy Employment Exchange have secured employment in Glenrothes.
