HC Deb 23 July 1963 vol 681 c153W
Mr. Frank Allaun

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs if, in view of the number of railway man, miners and others who will, through redundancy, have to leave their homes and become decontrolled tenants elsewhere, he will consider amending the Rent Act so as to provide that decontrol does not ensue from change of tenancy.

Sir K. Joseph

No. A return to control would only reduce the supply of accommodation to rent and, therefore, increase the difficulties of those looking for somewhere to live.
