HC Deb 23 July 1963 vol 681 cc144-5W
25. Mr. G. Wilson

asked the Postmaster-General whether telephones will soon be provided on long-distance trains; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Bevins

I have studied the possibilities here, but I am sure that such a service would prove uneconomic and I have no present plan for its introduction. When, however, the radio base stations for the London car radiophone service are established next year, I propose to study the feasibility of extending their scope to cover a service with trains.
