Sir E. Boyle

Expenditure on major educational building work in Lowestoft during the last five financial years has been as follows:

1958–59 35,150
1959–60 55,450
1960–61 61,000
1961–62 Nil
1962–63 51,150
Total 202,750

During the same period the maintained school population has decreased by about 500. Two major schools projects totalling £116,000 have been authorised to start in 1963–64 and 1964–65 and work costing over £300,000 will continue on a project started last year.
