Mr. Hayman

asked the Secretary of State for War which areas of the United Kingdom his Department holds for military training; and what is the extent of each.

Mr. Godber

My Department owns or leases in the United Kingdom 194 training areas and training ranges, with a total area of some 337,000 acres. The larger areas totalling 5,000 acres or more are as follows:
