HC Deb 16 July 1963 vol 681 c31W
58. Mr. Coulson

asked the Postmaster-General whether he will take steps to improve the quality of television reception in the Hull area.

Mr. Bevins

The B.B.C. tells me that it will bear in mind the needs of the Hull area, together with those of the many other areas with poor reception, when planning further stages of its satellite station scheme. Independent television reception in Hull is already of a generally acceptable standard, but the Authority tells me it hopes that it will be better still when it has built its new mast at Emley Moor, where one of the new U.H.F. stations is to be.
