§ Mr. BrookeAs I stated in answer to the hon. and learned Member for Ipswich (Mr. D. Foot) on 30th May, an undertaking was given during proceedings on the Criminal Justice Administration Bill, 1962, that the Government would undertake an inquiry into the whole nature and purpose of committal proceedings. This is in progress, and will certainly include a study of the Scottish procedure.
