§ 35. Mr. Wilkinsasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware of the deterioration in the numbers unemployed or working short time in the furniture and bedding manufacturing industries due to the continuing high level of Purchase Tax, accentuated by the recent reductions in Purchase Tax on motor cars and radio and television sets; and what proposals he has to stimulate consumer demand in these industries.
