§ Mr. Stonehouseasked the Lord Privy Seal, why he has accepted in the negotiations in Brussels the principle of a tariff on hand-knotted carpets and other similar exports from India which are essential to that country's economic development in view of his original request for a zero tariff; and what estimate he now makes of the effect on the Indian economy of the tariff to which he agrees in the event of Great Britain joining the Common Market.
