HC Deb 19 February 1963 vol 672 cc43-4W
Mr. Wingfield Digby

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will take steps to ensure that Her Majesty's Stationery Office uses better gum on House of Commons envelopes.

Mr. Barber

The gum used on House of Commons envelopes is of the same high quality as that used in 1958 when the Select Committee on Publications and Debates Reports stated that the quality of the gumming was in every way as good as the best commercial products and properly used should give every satisfaction". But if my hon. Friend will let me have any evidence he has to the contrary, the Stationery Office will be glad to consider it with the Select Committee on Publications and Debates Reports.
