asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how many paid appointments to posts outside the Civil Service he has in his patronage; what is the nature of each appointment; and what salary is payable in each case.

Mr. Sandys

Thirteen. Of these twelve are appointments to the Board of the Colonial Development Corporation. The Board consists of a Chairman, a Deputy Chairman and not less than four or not more than ten Members. At present there are six members. All these appointments are part-time. Their salaries are as follows: Chairman, £5,250; Deputy Chairman, £1,500; Members, £1,000.

The remaining appointment is that of Executive Commissioner of the British Caribbean Currency Board, whose salary is £2,000.
