Mr. Wingfield Digbyasked the Minister of Transport if, in view of the current unemployment in shipbuilding areas, he will, in consultation with the other Departments concerned, implement Recommendation (i) of the Shipbuilding Advisory Committee's special subcommittee by accelerating Government orders for ships.
§ Mr. MarplesMy noble Friend the First Lord of the Admiralty announced plans for accelerating naval orders on196W 23rd January. I am still exploring with some other Departments the possibility of bringing forward orders.
