§ Mr. Mappasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will give the total value of claims submitted and the amount of financial assistance paid at the latest available date in respect of textile 40W machinery installed under the Cotton Industry Act 1959.
§ Mr. ErrollThe total value of claims for grant submitted by 31st January involved expenditure by the firms of £24,377,163. Grant of one-quarter of eligible expenditure is payable from public funds against approved claims, and £4,155,072 has now been paid out. These figures include the installation of new machinery and the modernisation of existing machinery.
