§ Mr. Goodhewasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what steps Her Majesty's Government are taking to meet the request of the Government of the Republic of Niger for assistance in developing water supplies in Eastern Niger.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerHer Majesty's Government have allocated the sum of £12,000 for the drilling of artesian wells 287W by a British firm to supply additional water to the towns of N'Guigmi and Maine Soroa. Parliament will in due course be asked to vote that amount by means of a supplementary estimate. In the meantime an advance will be obtained from the Civil Contingencies Fund as required.
