Griffithsasked the Minister of Labour if he is aware of the concern of the Llanelly and District Disablement Advisory Committee at the lack of suitable work for the disabled unemployed in the district and of a medical rehabilitation unit in the area; and what steps he is taking in these matters.
§ Mr. GodberI am aware of this concern. Unemployed disabled persons, of course, have special difficulties but they should benefit, like others, from the improvement in the general employment situation expected in the area. The provision of medical rehabilitation facilities is a matter for my right hon. Friend the Minister of Health, who informs me that the Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Morriston Hospital, Swansea, is nearly completed and should be in operation early in 1964.
