HC Deb 04 December 1963 vol 685 c188W
94. Sir J. Eden

asked the Minister of Defence what British units are assigned to the mobile land and air forces of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation; and on what logistic support they rely.

Mr. Thorneycroft

We have assigned to the A.C.E. Mobile Land Force a battalion group stationed in this country, consisting at present of the 1st Innis-killings with artillery, engineer and administrative support. This is devoted exclusively to the Force, and its weapons are air-transportable. Our contribution to the A.C.E, Mobile Air Force consists of a Royal Air Force squadron stationed in Germany.
