§ THE PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY, MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT (LORD CHESHAM)Comprehensive information about numbers of stations closed in the years 1914–1947 is not available. Between 1948 and 1962 the number of stations at which passenger services were available fell by about 2,350. In this period about 1,850 stations were closed completely.
